Centennial

100 Years in
Rio Grande City, Texas
(1926-2026)
A world war. Hurricanes. The Klan and civil rights. Typewriters and twitter. Steam locomotives to hypersonic flight. For most of the 20th Century, Union Service Station in Rio Grande City, Texas has stood witness to the ebb of depressions and recessions, the flow of social change, and the strength of a family and its community.

Marking a Centennial
Union Service Station will mark its centennial in 2026. As part of our commemorate effort, we are applying to the Starr County Historical Commission and the Texas Historical Commission for desgination as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark (RTHL).
